The Punjab government has taken a significant step towards improving its Air Ambulance Service by awarding a contract to Karachi-based Sky Wings Company for the provision of modern planes. Out of three companies that showed interest, Sky Wings Company emerged as the successful bidder on April 1. The contract entails the deployment of two 'Piper' aircraft for the air ambulance service, with one being sourced from South Africa and the other from the United States.

Preparations are already underway, with staff training sessions in progress to ensure the seamless operation of the air ambulance service. Notably, Sky Wings Company has a history of collaboration with Edhi's Air Ambulance Service in Sindh, showcasing their expertise in this field.

This strategic move by the Punjab government signifies a commitment to enhancing emergency medical services and ensuring swift and efficient transportation for critical patients. The introduction of modern planes is set to elevate the standards of the Air Ambulance Service, enabling quicker response times and improved patient care.
