The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, recently visited Faisalabad to oversee the progress of the Faisalabad Safe City project. This initiative aims to enhance crime prevention, traffic management, and public safety in the region. During his visit, Dr. Anwar received a briefing from RPO Faisalabad Dr. Muhammad Abid Khan and MD Safe City Ahsan Younis, expressing satisfaction with the project's advancement and commending Dr. Khan for the swift completion.

Dr. Anwar emphasized the importance of the Safe City project in Faisalabad, highlighting its role in ensuring the security and well-being of the residents. The IGP's commitment to enhancing law enforcement capabilities was further demonstrated during his visit to Gujranwala, where he honored police martyrs and inspected the progress of the Safe City Project in the region.

In a significant development, the Punjab Police, in collaboration with Interpol Islamabad, successfully apprehended a wanted criminal, Rafiq Ahmed, in Saudi Arabia after eight years. The arrest was related to a kidnapping and murder case from Dera Ghazi Khan. Following the extradition of Ahmed to Pakistan, legal proceedings are currently underway to ensure justice is served.

This year, Punjab Police has made remarkable progress in apprehending 38 proclaimed offenders from foreign countries, showcasing their dedication to upholding the law and ensuring the safety of the community. Dr. Usman Anwar commended the police team for their relentless efforts and urged for swift legal action against the accused, emphasizing the importance of capturing fugitives involved in serious crimes to maintain public safety.
