The Election Tribunal of the Islamabad High Court grants a final opportunity to PML-N MNA Tariq Fazal Chaudhry to submit necessary documents in response to a petition challenging the election result of NA-47. The tribunal emphasizes transparency and adherence to electoral regulations, imposing fines for non-compliance.
An Election Tribunal of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has given the final opportunity to Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) MNA Tariq Fazal Chaudhry to submit necessary documents in response to a petition challenging the election result of NA-47. The tribunal directed Chaudhry to provide Form 45, 46, and 47 along with an affidavit within a specified timeframe.
The tribunal also imposed a fine of Rs15,000 on the Returning Officer (RO) of the constituency for failing to appear in court during the previous hearing. The RO was instructed to deposit the fine in SOS Village, Islamabad, within a week.
Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri, in his written order, highlighted the non-submission of required documents by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and directed them to comply with the regulations. He emphasized the importance of all parties submitting the necessary paperwork as per the court's previous orders.
Respondents, including the returned candidate and other relevant parties, were given a final chance to provide their written statements, replies, and necessary forms in accordance with the court's directives. Failure to comply may result in further legal actions.
Despite efforts to notify other respondents through various media channels, some parties did not attend the hearing, leading to ex-parte proceedings against them. The case has been adjourned until June 5 for further proceedings.
The Election Tribunal's decision to grant a final opportunity to PML-N MNA Tariq Fazal Chaudhry underscores the importance of transparency and adherence to electoral regulations. It serves as a reminder to all parties involved to fulfill their legal obligations promptly to ensure a fair and just electoral process.
