Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has expressed deep condolences for the devastating loss of lives caused by a series of accidents during heavy rains in various regions of the country. The affected areas include Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan. Bhutto Zardari also raised concerns about the increased incidents of lightning strikes, which have been exacerbated by changing climate conditions.

In a press release issued by the Media Cell Bilawal House, Bhutto Zardari mourned the casualties from lightning strikes and rain-related accidents in South Punjab, particularly in districts such as Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, and Rahim Yar Khan. He called upon the provincial government to mobilize all available resources to assist the rain-affected victims in Punjab.

The PPP Chairman also expressed sorrow over the loss of lives in rain-related accidents in various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including the lower and upper Chitral areas. He urged the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and disaster management agencies to provide immediate aid to those affected by the inclement weather, especially those facing challenges like landslides.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari further extended his condolences for the tragic loss of lives and property due to lightning strikes and accidents in Balochistan, specifically mentioning areas like Chaman, Dera Bugti, and Kohlu. He expressed confidence in the Balochistan government's support for the rain victims during this difficult period.

Highlighting the increasing incidents of lightning strikes as a sign of climate change, Bhutto Zardari emphasized the crucial role of universities and research institutions in addressing this issue.
