India is currently facing heatwave conditions, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing warnings for several regions until 7th May. Alongside the heatwave, an orange alert has been issued for heavy to very heavy rains in North East India on May 5th and 6th.

The IMD has forecasted heatwave conditions in various states including Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and parts of Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka. The heatwave is expected to persist in these regions over the next few days.

Additionally, the IMD has predicted heavy rainfall in North East India, particularly in Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Assam, and Meghalaya. Moreover, regions like East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka are expected to receive light to moderate rainfall in the coming days.
