The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a forecast for Karachi and various districts in Sindh, warning residents about the upcoming hot and humid weather conditions. Karachi, the largest city in Pakistan, is expected to face high temperatures in the next few days, accompanied by humidity. Despite the intense heat, a cooling sea breeze is predicted to provide some relief to the people living in the coastal city.

Over the weekend, Karachi experienced scorching heat with humidity levels peaking at 75% in the morning. However, there was a slight drop in temperature compared to the previous day, offering a brief respite from the heatwave.

The heatwave alert center has cautioned that Karachi will continue to endure the sweltering weather for the next three days. Monday is expected to see temperatures ranging between 35 and 37 degrees Celsius, while Tuesday may witness temperatures between 34 and 36 degrees Celsius. The PMD has also forecasted a gradual decrease in the heatwave across most districts of Sindh by June 4.

On the other hand, several other cities in Sindh are also bracing for high temperatures. Districts like Dadu, Larkana, and Sukkur could experience temperatures soaring between 45 and 47 degrees Celsius. In Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, and Umerkot, temperatures may vary from 42 to 44 degrees Celsius. Additionally, Thatta, Badin, and Tharparkar are likely to witness temperatures ranging from 38 to 40 degrees Celsius.

On Sunday, Jacobabad in rural Sindh recorded the highest temperature at 46.5 degrees Celsius, surpassing the average June temperature. The PMD has advised residents to take necessary precautions to ensure their safety during this period of extreme heat.

As Karachi and various districts in Sindh brace for hot and humid weather conditions, it is crucial for residents to stay hydrated, avoid direct sun exposure during peak hours, and take necessary measures to prevent heat-related illnesses. Keeping informed about the weather updates and following the guidelines provided by the authorities can help mitigate the impact of the heatwave. Let's all work together to stay safe and healthy during this challenging weather period.
