The Aga Khan University Institute for Educational Development and the Centre for Social Justice organized a policy dialogue in Karachi to address educational policy challenges and governance issues, featuring notable speakers and discussions on improving educational outcomes and policy implementation.

The Aga Khan University Institute for Educational Development (AKU-IED) and the Centre for Social Justice (CSJ) recently organized a policy dialogue in Karachi focusing on 'Overcoming Educational Policy Challenges through Better Governance'. The event aimed to bring together experts and stakeholders to discuss strategies for improving governance in education, enhancing educational outcomes, and developing a comprehensive policy roadmap for sustainable progress.

The panel of speakers included notable figures such as Dr. Riaz Ahmed Shaikh, Sadiqa Salahuddin, Professor Farid Panjwani, Jamil Ahmed Khan, Maleeha Manzoor, Nausheen Adnan, and Sukhdev Hemnani. The sessions were moderated by Peter Jacob and Tayyaba Rafiq from the Centre for Social Justice.

Professor Panjwani highlighted the importance of effective policy implementation, emphasizing the need for collaboration among stakeholders to bridge the gap between policy creation and execution. The event also featured an analysis of education manifestos by AKU-IED students, focusing on parameters such as education for out-of-school children, character education, gender disparities, and technology challenges.

In his closing remarks, Jacob expressed optimism about the government's education reform efforts, hoping that the dialogue would lead to improvements in educational standards and the overall quality of the education system.
