ASICS remains committed to promoting exercise for positive mental health outcomes.

ASICS has released the findings of its second Global State of Mind Study, highlighting the crucial connection between physical activity and mental wellbeing. The study, encompassing over 26,000 participants from 22 countries, reveals that individuals who engage in regular exercise exhibit higher State of Mind scores compared to inactive individuals. Notably, the research underscores the significance of maintaining physical activity during teenage years, as it directly influences mental wellbeing in adulthood.

The study emphasizes that teenagers who remain active between the ages of 15-17 are more likely to sustain exercise habits into adulthood, resulting in improved State of Mind scores. Conversely, those who cease exercising before the age of 15 demonstrate lower activity levels and diminished mental wellbeing in later years. The research also exposes a concerning trend of declining physical activity among younger generations, with Gen Z displaying the lowest State of Mind scores globally.

Professor Brendon Stubbs from King's College London expressed apprehension over the decreasing activity levels among younger individuals, citing a potential impact on future mental health. ASICS' Managing Executive Officer, Tomoko Koda, reiterated the brand's commitment to promoting physical activity for positive mental wellbeing throughout all life stages.

The 2024 State of Mind Study, conducted across various markets, underscores the importance of exercise in fostering a sound mind within a sound body. With a focus on enhancing mental wellbeing through physical activity, ASICS continues to advocate for a healthier and more active global population.
