The 79th Syndicate meeting of UHS led to significant decisions, including faster degree issuance, new academic programs, and transparent administrative processes, benefiting stakeholders in healthcare education.

The University of Health Sciences (UHS) recently held its 79th Syndicate meeting, chaired by Vice-Chancellor Professor Ahsan Waheed Rathore. One of the key decisions made during the meeting was to expedite the issuance of degrees for MBBS students. Degrees will now be issued within three months of the final examination results, eliminating the need for candidates to endure long waiting periods.

In addition to this, the Syndicate also decided to streamline the degree preparation process and announced that degrees and transcripts issued on court orders will be labeled with 'By Order of the Court' for clarity and authenticity.

Furthermore, the meeting approved UHS's new service structures for 2024, including a public notice inviting pharmacy colleges within Punjab's geographical boundaries to apply for inclusion according to the UHS Act.

Another significant decision taken was the introduction of a four-year BSN nursing program at UHS, set to commence at the Jinnah campus. Candidates entering the MS nursing program will be required to serve three years after obtaining the degree, with the option to either pay the full fee or fulfill a three-year bond with UHS to be exempted from program fees.

Administrative appointments were also approved during the meeting, with notable figures such as Vice-Chancellor Fatima Jinnah Medical University Professor Khalid Masood Gondal and Pro-VC UHS Professor Nadia Naseem in attendance.

The decisions made at the 79th Syndicate meeting of UHS mark a significant step towards enhancing efficiency in degree issuance, expanding academic programs, and ensuring transparency in administrative processes. These developments are poised to benefit students, faculty, and affiliated institutions within the healthcare education sector.
