Managing Director of WASA, Chaudhry Muhammad Danish, emphasized the urgent need for the replacement of outdated sewerage and water supply lines in Multan. He highlighted the challenges faced by WASA due to the deteriorating infrastructure and the significant increase in electricity bills. During a meeting with a representative from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Danish discussed the critical importance of upgrading the disposal stations to a solar system.

Danish pointed out that the city was experiencing frequent incidents of crown failure and water supply contamination, primarily caused by the extensive network of outdated sewage and water supply lines spanning over 1200 km and 1000 km, respectively. To address these issues, he stressed the necessity of implementing mega projects for the replacement of these essential lines to prevent further incidents.

Moreover, Danish highlighted the rising electricity costs incurred by WASA due to the operation of disposal stations and tube wells. He expressed gratitude towards JICA for their support in providing assistance and advanced machinery for the solar project, acknowledging the crucial role played by the Japanese agency in resolving WASA's challenges.
