Dr. Fateh Muhammad Mari, the Vice Chancellor of Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) in Tandojam, has unveiled a proposal to create a foundation comprising retired professors, officers, and employees. This foundation, operating under SAU's guidance, aims to actively contribute to the advancement of agriculture.

At a farewell event for Director Admissions Ahmed Khan Mangi, Dr. Mari presented a strategic plan to enroll over 12,000 farmers. He stressed that the foundation will enlist agricultural graduates to provide farmers with essential information and assistance on seeds, nursery management, animal breeding, and modern agricultural practices. Drawing inspiration from successful initiatives like the Green Pakistan Drive, NLC, and Fauji Foundation, Dr. Mari highlighted the wealth of expertise that senior professors and officers will bring to this new foundation.

Emphasizing the pivotal role of SAU's 10,000 students, Dr. Mari referenced recent collaborations with outstanding farmers during the Mango Festival in Mirpurkhas. The future objectives include registering 12,000 farmers nationwide, with a particular emphasis on Sindh. Dr. Mari stressed the importance of aligning the University's academic and research pursuits closely with the agricultural sector.

The event witnessed the presence of key figures such as Dean Dr. Inayatullah Rajpar, Registrar Ghulam Mohiuddin Qureshi, Director Finance Anil Kumar, President of the Officers Association Manzoor Hussain Lakhair, General Secretary Muhammad Ashraf Rustmani, department heads, and a substantial number of officers and staff.

The proposed establishment of an agricultural foundation by SAU's Vice Chancellor, Dr. Fateh Muhammad Mari, signifies a significant step towards enhancing agricultural development in the region. With a focus on leveraging the expertise of retired professionals and engaging students in practical initiatives, this initiative holds promise for fostering sustainable agricultural practices and benefiting farmers across Sindh and beyond.
