Ahsan Iqbal Urges Acceleration of Infrastructure Projects

Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal, has emphasized the need for expediting the construction work on ongoing infrastructure projects. In a recent meeting, he directed the National Highways Authority (NHA) to address bottlenecks promptly to ensure timely completion of these projects.

The meeting, chaired by Minister Iqbal, focused on various aspects, including the Federal Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Policy for 2023-2028 and the progress of the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) managed by the NHA. Key stakeholders, including officials from the Ministry of Communication, Ministry of Planning, and NHA, along with experts and consultants, attended the meeting.

During the session, Minister Iqbal received a detailed briefing on the PSDP for 2024-2025 and the current project portfolio of the NHA. He urged all relevant parties to address any hindrances hindering the construction work on existing projects promptly.

The meeting aligned with the directives of the Prime Minister regarding the Federal PPP Policy 2023-2028, aimed at strategically reviewing the policy's operational framework. The objective is to enhance the implementation mechanism and effectiveness of the PPP policy, ensuring smoother execution of infrastructure projects.
