City Traffic Officer Amara Athar spearheads a campaign in Lahore to enforce lane discipline, issuing fines to over 8,000 vehicles. The initiative aims to improve road safety and traffic flow through strict enforcement measures and community engagement.
On the first day of a recent campaign in Lahore, over 8,000 vehicles were issued challan tickets for failing to adhere to lane discipline. The initiative, led by City Traffic Officer Amara Athar, aims to promote safer and more organized traffic flow on five major roads in the city: Mall Road, Jail Road, Canal Road, Ferozepur Road, and Main Boulevard Road Gulberg.
Motorists and car riders faced strict consequences for violating lane rules, with a particular focus on preventing infractions such as crossing stop lines. Motorcyclists were reminded to stick to the far left lane to ensure smoother traffic movement. Additionally, efforts to combat incorrect parking were ramped up, utilizing all available resources effectively.
Divisional officers were assigned the task of engaging with the local business community to raise awareness about the enforcement measures. Any encroachments on the roads were to be addressed promptly through the registration of cases, following directives from Amara Athar.
The crackdown on lane discipline violations in Lahore underscores the city's commitment to enhancing road safety and traffic management. By enforcing strict measures and engaging with stakeholders, authorities are working towards creating a more orderly and secure environment for all road users.
