The Commissioner of Lahore enforces strict anti-smog measures, including banning pyrolysis plants and monitoring industrial sectors. Progress on the Ravi Bridge project is highlighted, with challenges in river diversion noted.

Pyrolysis plants have been completely banned in Lahore, with illegal operations facing imminent demolition. The Commissioner has stressed the urgency of implementing strict measures to combat smog in the city, attributing the issue to factors such as insufficient plantation, vehicle emissions, poor dust control, and crop burning.

There is a call for zero tolerance towards all sectors contributing to smog, with a directive for officials to closely monitor brick kilns, factories, and industrial units in alignment with the anti-smog policy. Progress on the distribution of super seeder machines to tackle crop residues was also reviewed under the Department of Agriculture.

During a visit to various development projects, including the Ravi Bridge Extension Project and Controlled Access Corridor Closed Road Lahore, the Commissioner highlighted the anticipated relief the completion of the Ravi Bridge project will bring to citizens. However, challenges related to diverting the downstream of the river for the bridge's expansion were noted.

Notably, 91 out of 96 girders for the Ravi Bridge project have been successfully installed, showcasing significant progress. Efforts to accelerate work on the service road and drain along the Bund Road project were also emphasized, with officials instructed to expedite ongoing works on both mega projects for the benefit of Lahore's residents.
