Commissioner of Dera Zafarul Islam on High Alert

The Commissioner of Dera Zafarul Islam has announced that the divisional administration is on high alert to manage any emergency situations arising from the ongoing heavy rains in the region. District administrations of DI Khan, Tank, and South Waziristan, along with relevant departments, have been instructed to stay vigilant to ensure the safety of lives and properties in case of any rain-related emergencies.

Over the past 24 hours, DI Khan district has received 4 mm of rainfall. Reports indicate that rainwater has started to enter South Waziristan and nearby hilly areas, causing concerns about potential floods. The floodwaters are currently passing through the Garah Baloch area of Tank and are projected to reach the Kulachi Tehsil of Dera Ismail Khan after traversing Takwara and Garah Mohabbat areas.

The Commissioner mentioned that while there is a risk of damage to Dera Ismail Khan District, particularly in low-lying areas, the impact is expected to decrease once the floodwaters enter Kulachi Tehsil. The administration is actively engaged in addressing the challenges faced by the local population and is committed to providing necessary assistance to mitigate the impact of the floods.
