Recently, a crucial meeting was held at the Commissioner's Office in Bahawalpur to discuss the progress of Axle Load Management in the region. Led by Commissioner Nadir Chattha, the meeting aimed to address the issue of overloaded vehicles damaging roads and incurring high repair costs.
Commissioner Chattha stressed the significance of preserving Punjab's road infrastructure and announced the implementation of axle load management measures. These measures are designed to extend the lifespan of roads and reduce maintenance expenses by controlling the weight limits of vehicles.
As a part of this initiative, weight stations will be set up on four major roads in Bahawalpur Division to enforce axle load management regulations mandated by the Punjab Government. Strict legal actions will be taken against violators to ensure compliance.
Additionally, Commissioner Chattha called upon the Punjab Highway Patrolling Police and Traffic Police to prioritize road safety for both roads and passengers. Heavy fines will be imposed on individuals found violating the axle load management rules to deter such practices.
The implementation of axle load management measures in Bahawalpur Division marks a significant step towards preserving road infrastructure and ensuring the safety of all road users.
