Commissioner Bhatti Reviews Price Control Magistrates' Performance

Commissioner Muhammad Ajmal Bhatti recently led a meeting to assess the performance of price control magistrates and ensure proper arrangements for ongoing exams and transportation fare enforcement. The commissioner scrutinized the individual performance of magistrates across all districts, reprimanding those found lacking and emphasizing the need for thorough inspections in both specific and open areas. He stressed the importance of checking the weight and price of subsidized flour, instructing deputy commissioners to provide training for inefficient magistrates. Setting daily inspection targets for each magistrate was also highlighted, with a focus on the positive societal impact of their actions. Monitoring the demand and supply of essential commodities, particularly pulses, was underscored, along with the necessity of registering FIRs against traders violating the Price Act.

Furthermore, the meeting addressed arrangements for ongoing intermediate examinations, with an emphasis on transparent conduct being a shared responsibility. Deputy commissioners and assistant commissioners were directed to conduct daily inspections at exam centers, ensuring candidates have a calm environment and robust security. Strict action against the flour mafia was also mandated, with all deputy commissioners tasked to guarantee foolproof security for foreigners.
