Deputy Commissioner Goraya leads crackdown on price violations in Mianwali, enforcing official prices and penalizing profiteers to protect consumers.

In a recent meeting at the Mianwali Deputy Commissioner's office, Deputy Commissioner Khalid Javed Goraya directed price control magistrates to ensure that official prices of food items are strictly enforced in the district. The meeting, attended by various officials including Additional Deputy Commissioner General Salman Ahmad Loon and Assistant Commissioners, focused on the crucial task of monitoring and regulating prices to protect consumers.

Deputy Commissioner Goraya stressed the significance of vigilant monitoring by price control magistrates in markets and shops to ensure fair pricing and provide relief to the public. The meeting highlighted that a total of 17,829 inspections were conducted in the previous month, leading to fines totaling Rs2.49 million imposed on profiteers. Additionally, 83 shopkeepers were apprehended, and 2 FIRs were lodged as a result of these inspections.

These actions demonstrate the district's commitment to combating price violations and protecting consumers from exploitation. By actively enforcing official prices and penalizing those who engage in price gouging, Mianwali authorities are working to create a fair and transparent marketplace for all residents.
