On June 21, 2024, in Rawalpindi, the Murree administration cracked down on 29 vehicles that were found to be charging higher fares than the reduced rates mandated by the Punjab government. These vehicles were fined a total of Rs. 37,500.0 for their violation. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif stressed the importance of strict adherence to the reduced fares to ensure relief for the public.

Deputy Commissioner Murree, Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi, personally conducted inspections along various routes to guarantee the implementation of the new fare policy. As a result of these efforts, Rs. 18,000.0 was refunded to passengers who had been overcharged.
