Governor Balochistan Sheikh Jafar Khan Mandukhel recently highlighted the importance of making tough decisions and exploring new revenue streams to achieve self-sufficiency for public sector universities. This message was conveyed during a meeting with Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman of Higher Education Commission, at Governor's House Quetta.

The Governor emphasized that higher education institutions in the province are valuable assets that require immediate financial solutions to ensure quality education, especially for underprivileged students in remote areas. He urged both the federal and provincial governments to increase budget allocations for higher education to address potential challenges faced by government universities.

In addition, Governor Balochistan commended the Prime Minister's decision to declare an educational emergency in the country, highlighting the government's dedication to providing high-quality education. He also stressed the significance of incorporating modern skills into traditional education by proposing the introduction of contemporary IT courses at technical institutes and colleges throughout the province.

The meeting attendees included Principal Secretary to Governor Balochistan Hashim Khan Ghilzai, Vice Chancellor of BUITEM University Dr. Khalid Hafeez, and DG Higher Education Dr. Zahoor Ahmed Bazai.
