Gujar Khan - Major Gen. (Rtd) Azhar Mahmood Kiyani, the Health Advisor to the Chief Minister of Punjab, has reaffirmed the government's dedication to improving healthcare services in the province. During a recent visit to the Deputy Commissioner Office in Jhelum, the advisor emphasized the importance of strengthening the health sector to benefit the local population. He announced plans to kickstart the development of healthcare services in Jhelum district, aiming to offer quality treatment locally, reducing the need for residents to travel to major cities.

Major Gen. (Rtd) Azhar Mahmood Kiyani underscored the PML-N government's commitment to prioritizing the delivery of improved healthcare services to meet public needs. He highlighted the establishment of complaint cells in all provincial hospitals to ensure patients receive services without any lapses. The advisor also guaranteed the continued provision of free medicines in government health facilities.

During a meeting at the DC office, the advisor received updates on ongoing health projects in the district and stressed the importance of their timely completion. The District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) Jhelum is set to become a model hospital in the province, with plans to soon operationalize the under-construction trauma center. Maj Gen. (R) Kiyani stressed the urgency of upgrading the emergency unit in the DHQ to a modern facility.
