The Higher Education Commission of Pakistan launches the IPFP program to support fresh PhD scholars in integrating into academic institutions, enhancing teaching and research capacities, and bridging the gap between academia and employment.

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has taken a significant step towards enhancing the quality of higher education and research capabilities in the country with the launch of the fifth batch of the Interim Placement of Fresh PhDs (IPFP) Phase-II program. This initiative, which began in January this year, aims to integrate newly minted PhD scholars into universities and research institutions to invigorate the academic environment.

The IPFP program caters to individuals who have recently completed their doctoral studies and those who are facing challenges in securing academic support and employment opportunities post-PhD. One of the key components of the program is the Pre-service Faculty Development Program (PFDP), which equips participants with essential skills for academic roles such as teaching, scholarship, writing, policies, and administration.
