The Chinese Embassy in Pakistan launches interactive media sessions to improve coverage of the China-Pakistan partnership, focusing on CPEC projects and countering misinformation.

The Chinese Embassy in Pakistan has initiated a series of interactive sessions with local media to enhance understanding and coverage of the growing partnership between China and Pakistan, particularly focusing on projects related to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). This move is part of the China-Pakistan Information Corridor (CPIC), aimed at bridging the gap between Pakistani and Chinese media.

Political and Press Counsellor Wang Shengjie announced the launch of these sessions, emphasizing the importance of providing accurate and positive news about Sino-Pak relations and CPEC developments. The Embassy intends to establish a platform under CPIC to foster collaboration between media outlets from both countries and combat misinformation.

Through CPIC, the Embassy aims to keep the public well-informed about the progress in various sectors, including industrial, agriculture, mineral, and IT, under the second phase of CPEC. This initiative seeks to promote mutual learning and understanding while countering fake news and highlighting the benefits of the partnership.

Wang Shengjie highlighted the support of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Information Minister Atta Ullah Tarar in leveraging the media's role to expedite the implementation of CPEC projects. The interactive sessions between the Embassy and Pakistani media aim to strengthen cooperation and ensure accurate reporting on development and security-related news.

Regarding CPEC, the focus is on developing an 'Open Corridor' to encourage third-party collaboration and maximize socio-economic benefits for Pakistan's advancement.
