Lahore residents surprised by military exercises in city streets

On Monday night, residents of Lahore were surprised to see a platoon of armed forces personnel marching through the streets of the city. Videos shared online showed the troops moving along a busy road, causing a temporary disruption in traffic flow.

Social media buzzed with speculation about the purpose of this deployment, with some connecting it to past events on May 9 and ongoing protests in Azad Kashmir. However, it was later clarified that such military exercises are a regular part of training in Lahore.

Reports surfaced about misinformation being spread by certain political party members regarding the army drills. The troops from IV Corps in Lahore were actually engaged in nighttime urban combat operations against a simulated adversary. Some soldiers were briefly visible on public roads near the Lahore Cantonment area.
