An alarming situation has unfolded in the Kamiana Thatta area of Pattoki, Punjab, where a measles outbreak has resulted in the tragic deaths of three more children, bringing the total number of fatalities to 10 within the past twenty days. The community is facing a dire lack of essential resources to combat this outbreak, with over two dozen children currently undergoing treatment in local hospitals.

Furthermore, the city of Bahawalpur and its surrounding areas are also struggling with a measles epidemic, recording 23 new cases in the last 24 hours alone. Bahawal Victoria Hospital and Sir Sadiq Abbasi Hospital are actively treating 23 affected children, with a total of 81 children hospitalized. Regrettably, the condition of 10 children remains critical, underscoring the urgent need for swift intervention and support.

In a separate incident at Nishtar Hospital Multan, three children tragically lost their lives to pneumonia. Among them, two children were diagnosed solely with pneumonia, while one child was battling both meningitis and pneumonia. The hospital is awaiting measles test results for the affected children. The young victims, aged between eight months and one and a half years, hailed from Multan and Kabirwala, highlighting the widespread impact of these health crises.
