RWMC, under Chairman Saqib Rafiq's leadership, implements a comprehensive plan to manage over 9,000 tons of waste generated during Eid-ul-Azha in Punjab. With 4,000 workers, 435 vehicles, and various waste disposal strategies, RWMC ensures cleanliness, public awareness, and odor control for a healthier environment.
Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) is taking proactive steps to lead cleanliness efforts during Eid-ul-Azha in Punjab. With the aim of efficiently handling the waste generated from sacrificial animals, RWMC, under the leadership of Chairman Saqib Rafiq, has devised a comprehensive plan.
Anticipating the removal of over 9,000 tons of waste, RWMC has mobilized a workforce of 4,000 sanitary workers who will be working tirelessly in shifts around the clock. To support this massive operation, 435 vehicles, including dumpers, tractors, trolleys, pick-ups, and excavators, will be deployed.
The dedicated staff will cover all tehsils of the district, ensuring cleanliness in areas such as Murree, Kahuta, Taxila, Gujar Khan, and Kallar Syeda. Special collection points and mobile transfer stations will be set up, and biodegradable bags will be distributed for the proper disposal of sacrificial animal remains.
At collective slaughter points, workers will utilize hand carts for waste disposal, while the use of lime and washing containers with fennel and rose water will help eliminate odors effectively. RWMC is also focused on raising public awareness through the display of banners across the city, educating residents about the ongoing cleanliness campaign.
RWMC's commitment extends beyond managing Eid-ul-Azha waste; the company is dedicated to ensuring regular garbage collection without any disruptions. By implementing these measures, RWMC is not only promoting cleanliness during the festive season but also contributing to a cleaner and healthier environment for all.
