The district administration of Islamabad clarifies that bread and naan prices will not be reduced. Bread remains at Rs 16, naan at Rs 20. Deputy Commissioner enforces new weight and pricing regulations, facing a challenge from the Non-Bye Association in court.

The district administration of Islamabad has clarified that the prices of bread and naan in the city will not be reduced, contrary to recent reports. The administration stated that the price of bread will remain at Rs 16, while the price of naan will be Rs 20, as per the notification. Following a court order, the weight of bread will be reduced from 120 grams to 100 grams. The Deputy Commissioner has instructed assistant commissioners to ensure compliance with the new weight and pricing regulations.

Earlier, there was confusion when the administration initially withdrew the notification of Rs 16 bread in Islamabad. However, the current directive stands, urging citizens to purchase 100 grams of bread for Rs 16 and 120 grams of naan for Rs 20. It is worth noting that the president of the Non-Bye Association has contested the Deputy Commissioner's decision in the Islamabad High Court.
