PTI Activist Sanam Javed Re-Arrested After Legal Proceedings

Sanam Javed, a social media activist affiliated with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), found herself back in police custody shortly after her release from Sargodha jail. The reason behind her re-arrest was her suspected involvement in the Gujranwala Cantonment riot incident that took place on May 9. This move was initiated to delve deeper into her alleged role in the said riots. It's worth noting that another PTI member, Alia Hamza, had also been linked to the same case.

Earlier, the Lahore High Court had addressed a petition filed by Sanam Javed, a prominent PTI leader, which eventually led to a favorable outcome for her. This legal development transpired after she received a crucial document called a 'Robkar' while she was serving time in Sargodha Jail. The court's decision was rendered during a session overseen by Justice Muhammad Waheed Khan, where an application submitted by Muhammad Javed Khan was scrutinized. Additional Inspector General (AIG) Jail Establishment Shahram Tauqeer, acting as the Jail Superintendent of Kot Lakhpat, provided comprehensive insights into the process.

The AIG apprised the court that a Deputy Superintendent Jail Judicial had received the Robkar on June 1 and promptly dispatched it via registered post to District Jail Sargodha. Furthermore, he confirmed the establishment of communication with the Superintendent Jail Sargodha, verifying the receipt of the Robkar on their end.

The re-arrest of Sanam Javed by Gujranwala police following her release from Sargodha jail sheds light on the ongoing investigations into the Gujranwala Cantonment riot incident. The legal proceedings initiated by the Lahore High Court, coupled with the receipt of the 'Robkar,' have added layers of complexity to the case.
