Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Chairman of PMYP, advocates for street children empowerment and education in Pakistan. Government initiatives focus on social inclusion and sports development for youth.

The Chairman of the Prime Minister's Youth Program (PMYP), Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, highlighted the government's dedication to empowering street children during his speech at the National Street Children Conference. He emphasized the importance of providing comprehensive support to these children to enable them to become valuable members of society.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif's encouragement of street children teams was praised by Mashhood, who also pledged increased resources for the street children football team. This commitment reflects the government's focus on addressing youth issues and ensuring that every child has access to education and opportunities for personal growth.

One of the key concerns raised by Mashhood was the high number of children, around 20.6 million, who are currently out of school in Pakistan. This alarming statistic underscores the urgent need for initiatives that promote education and social inclusion for all children, especially those living on the streets.

Recognizing the valuable contributions of organizations like Muslim Hands in areas such as education and sports, Mashhood called upon all stakeholders to actively participate in enhancing societal development. He emphasized the role of sports in fostering a civilized society and highlighted the government's efforts to provide platforms for talented children to showcase their skills.

In a significant announcement, Mashhood revealed plans to establish the Pakistan Education and Sports Endowment Funds, inspired by the success of the national hockey team in the Azlan Shah Cup. These initiatives are aimed at promoting merit-based selection and creating opportunities for young athletes to excel in their chosen fields.

The government's unwavering commitment to supporting street children and addressing youth issues signals a positive change for Pakistan's future. By investing in education, sports, and social welfare programs, the government aims to create a more inclusive and prosperous society where every child has the opportunity to thrive.
