Residents Seek Urgent Relief Amid Severe Weather Havoc

Severe weather conditions, including heavy rainfall, hail, and thunderstorms, have wreaked havoc across the Hazara division. The recent downpour led to landslides in Mansehra district, particularly affecting the Jhampar Mohallah of Gurhi Habibullah. Homes in the area, belonging to residents like Sajid Khan, Sabir Khan, Manzoor Khan, and Qaisar Khan, suffered extensive damage as landslides caused their collapse.

In addition to Mansehra, districts like Abbottabad also faced significant destruction, with areas like Thandyani, Galyat, and Lora Circle bearing the brunt of the severe weather. Major connecting roads were destroyed due to heavy rainfall, exacerbating the situation for residents.

Unusual weather patterns were observed, with light snowfall in Kaghan and Naran yesterday and up to 3 inches of snowfall in Galyat and Thandyani today, despite the late April timeframe. Consequently, temperatures in the upper parts of the Hazara division have plummeted, prompting residents to rely on warm clothing for comfort.

As the affected individuals grapple with the aftermath of the severe weather, they are calling on the district administration to deploy emergency staff for assistance. Urgent relief measures are being sought to alleviate the suffering of those impacted by the calamity.
