The Saudi government has raised concerns about the anticipated extreme temperatures during the upcoming Hajj season in Saudi Arabia. The head of the Saudi National Centre of Meteorology has highlighted that the period from June 24 to 29 is expected to witness the highest temperatures of the year. This information is crucial for relevant agencies to take necessary precautions at the holy sites to ensure the safety of pilgrims.
With millions of Muslims expected to participate in the Hajj journey to Makkah, the intense heat poses a significant health risk. Saudi authorities are preparing for a potentially record-breaking number of attendees following a surge in Umrah pilgrims during Ramadan. Notably, Pakistani pilgrims have been arriving in Madinah since May 9 as part of pre-Hajj flight operations, with a total of 28,743 Pakistani pilgrims having reached Madinah through 120 flights as of Tuesday.
This year, around 2.5 million faithful individuals from across the globe, including 179,210 from Pakistan, are set to fulfill the religious duty of Hajj. The pilgrimage is scheduled to take place from June 14 to 19, emphasizing the importance of being aware of the weather conditions and taking necessary precautions to ensure a safe and fulfilling pilgrimage experience.
As the Hajj season approaches, it is essential for pilgrims and authorities to stay informed about the weather forecasts and prioritize safety measures. With the expected high temperatures, it is crucial to take necessary steps to protect the well-being of all participants. By being proactive and prepared, both pilgrims and organizers can ensure a successful and spiritually enriching Hajj journey.
