Pakistan Meteorological Department Warns of Intense Heatwave

The citizens of Pakistan have been alerted by the meteorological department regarding the upcoming intense heatwave set to hit the country on the first day of Eid-ul-Adha, particularly in Lahore. The weather forecast paints a picture of scorching temperatures nationwide, with Sibi projected to soar to a staggering 49 degrees Celsius. Major urban centers such as Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, and Karachi are also bracing for high temperatures, with Karachi expected to reach a peak of 37 degrees Celsius. Nokundi, too, is poised to endure a blistering 45 degrees Celsius. Furthermore, South Punjab and various other regions are slated to be engulfed by the sweltering heatwave.

In light of the escalating temperatures, the Sindh government has taken proactive measures by enforcing Section 144 along the coastal areas to counteract the heatwave's impact. This directive prohibits citizens from visiting beaches during the Eid holidays. Law enforcement agencies have issued appeals to the public, urging them to abstain from beach excursions to safeguard their well-being during the festive period.
