The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted predominantly hot and dry weather conditions for most parts of Pakistan in the next 24 hours. Central and southern regions are likely to experience very high temperatures, while isolated areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Punjab, north/central Balochistan, and Kashmir may witness partly cloudy skies with chances of rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening. The current synoptic situation indicates the prevalence of continental air over the country, with a shallow westerly wave expected to affect the upper and western areas from tomorrow.

Over the past day, hot and dry weather prevailed in many areas, especially in the south and central regions. However, there were reports of rain and thunderstorms in isolated locations in southeastern Sindh and Kalat. Recorded rainfall figures include 23mm in Chachro, 06mm in Islamkot, and 03mm in Kalat. The highest maximum temperatures were recorded in Dadu at 49°C, Jacobabad at 47°C, and several other cities such as Sukkur, Rohri, Mohenjodaro, Padidan, Shaheed Benazirabad, Larkana, and Dera Ghazi Khan reaching 46°C.

As the Pakistan Meteorological Department issues warnings for hot and dry weather across the country, it is essential for residents to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, and take necessary precautions to prevent heat-related illnesses. While some regions may experience relief in the form of rain and thunderstorms, it is crucial to stay informed about weather updates and follow safety guidelines provided by local authorities. Stay safe and be prepared for varying weather conditions in different parts of Pakistan.
