John Alfred Tinniswood, at 111 years old, becomes the world's oldest living man, sharing his wisdom and resilience with a sociable nature.

The title of the world's oldest man has been officially transferred from the late Juan Vicente Perez of Venezuela to John Alfred Tinniswood of England. Perez, who passed away a day before his 115th birthday, held the record until his recent demise. Tinniswood, born on May 27, 1909, has now been recognized by the Guinness World Records as the oldest living man at 111 years and 223 days as of April 5, 2024.

Perez, known for his disciplined lifestyle that included hard work, early bedtime, and a daily glass of aguardiente, attributed his longevity to his faith and healthy habits. On the other hand, Tinniswood, who considers his long life to be a stroke of luck, continues to lead an independent life at the age of 111. Despite his advanced age, he manages his daily tasks, stays informed about current events, and handles his finances without assistance.

Having lived through both World Wars and served in the Army Pay Corps during World War II, Tinniswood shares his wisdom with others, advising against smoking and emphasizing the role of chance in determining one's lifespan. A widower since 1986, he cherishes the memories of his 44-year marriage to Blodwen and takes pride in his four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Residing in a care home in Southport, Tinniswood is described as a 'big chatterbox' by the staff, highlighting his sociable nature. As the new titleholder of the world's oldest man, Tinniswood's remarkable journey serves as an inspiration to many, showcasing the resilience and vitality that can accompany a life well-lived.
