Abdul Karim Tordher Inaugurates 7th Engineering Design Expo

The 7th Final Year Engineering Design Projects Expo 2024, recently inaugurated by Abdul Karim Tordher, the Special Assistant to the KP CM on Industries, Commerce, and Technical Education, in collaboration with the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), displayed a range of innovative engineering projects by students from universities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Engineer Mir Masood Rasheed, Advisor to the Pakistan Engineering Council, and other dignitaries praised the students for their creative models at the event. The Special Assistant recognized students who completed a six-month field internship supported by the PEC by distributing certificates.

During his speech, the Special Assistant highlighted plans for a legislative act to reserve 5% of student internships for technical training in industries. He stressed the importance of integrating entrepreneurship into university curricula and announced a Rs.5 billion project for interest-free loans to boost start-ups and cluster development.

Encouraging students to harness their creativity, the Special Assistant emphasized the government's commitment to supporting them through the Board of Investment. He expressed confidence in the abilities of the new generation, urging them to build their brands and contribute to the province's progress.

Commending the Pakistan Engineering Council for organizing the expo, the Special Assistant pledged full government backing for the students. The event concluded with the presentation of a shield to the Special Assistant as a token of gratitude.
