Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurates Lahore Traffic Response Unit to enhance traffic flow, road safety, and prompt responses to incidents, marking a significant step in improving traffic management.

The Traffic Response Unit was recently inaugurated in Lahore by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to address traffic management issues in the city. The unit aims to enhance traffic flow, ensure road safety, and provide prompt responses to traffic incidents.

During the launch event, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif inspected the unit's bikes, interacted with wardens, and discussed training and operational matters. She also demonstrated the use of the public address system to manage traffic congestion effectively.

Following the launch, a meeting chaired by the Chief Minister was held to set deadlines for improving traffic flow and removing obstructions like carriages. Instructions were given to provide alternative parking spaces and maintain lane discipline. An awareness campaign for rickshaws and motorbikes was also announced to promote safe driving practices.

The meeting emphasized the implementation of the Intelligent Traffic Signal Management System and strategic planning to eliminate road encroachments. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed the restoration of traffic guidance screens and stressed the importance of a quick response to traffic jams.

The newly established Traffic Response Unit consists of 50 heavy bikes and 100 trained wardens equipped with first aid kits, public address systems, and cameras for documentation. The unit is committed to ensuring smooth traffic flow in Lahore by responding promptly and efficiently to traffic incidents.

Key officials, including the City Traffic Officer, Senior Provincial Minister, Information Minister, Chief Secretary, Inspector General of Police, Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, and other relevant authorities, attended the meeting to support initiatives aimed at enhancing traffic management in the city.

The launch of the Traffic Response Unit in Lahore marks a significant step towards improving traffic management and road safety in the city.
