The University of Agriculture Peshawar and the Beijing Engineering Research Center for Hybrid Wheat signed an MoU to collaborate on developing low water-use wheat hybrids and joint research projects, aiming to enhance agricultural innovation through technology exchange and training facilities.

An important milestone was achieved as the University of Agriculture Peshawar in Pakistan and the Beijing Engineering Research Center for Hybrid Wheat in China signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during a ceremony held on Saturday. The agreement was signed by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Jahan Bakht and Director Prof. Dr. Zhang Shengquan, marking a significant step towards fostering academic and research collaboration between the two institutions.

The MoU aims to facilitate cooperation in various areas including the development of low water-use wheat hybrids, exchange of faculty and students, sharing of research materials and information, and joint research projects. Both parties have committed to supporting each other through the provision of technologies, research equipment, and training facilities.

Speaking about the agreement, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Jahan Bakht highlighted the university's commitment to producing graduates who contribute to the agriculture and livestock sectors at national and international levels. The collaboration is expected to enhance the development of both institutions and pave the way for future advancements in hybrid wheat research.

The signing ceremony was attended by key officials including Dean Faculty members and administrative officers, who congratulated the parties involved for successfully finalizing the agreement. This partnership holds great promise for the advancement of agricultural research and innovation in both Pakistan and China.
