A recent meeting held at the Deputy Commissioner's office brought together key officials from various departments to assess the disaster management plan for the upcoming pre-flood and monsoon period. The focus of the meeting was to ensure timely and effective preparations to mitigate potential risks and safeguard the community.

During the meeting, the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Revenue stressed the importance of swift action by all relevant departments. The Chief Officer of the Municipal Committee was assigned the task of gathering information on unstable buildings, while the Livestock Department was directed to prioritize the vaccination of animals. Additionally, the Irrigation Department was instructed to conduct a thorough evaluation of protective embankments near riverine areas and accelerate any necessary repair work.

Providing further insights, the Secretary of the District Emergency Board and District Management Authority, Punjab Emergency Service Rescue 1122 Bahawalpur, outlined the preparedness measures for the upcoming season. Rescue 1122 teams, equipped with ambulances, fire vehicles, and specialized rescue units, will be on standby across the district. In case of communication challenges, individuals can reach out to the Rescue Control Room at 9250500 or the District Administration District Control Room at 9250508 for immediate assistance during emergencies.
