Employees of South Waziristan Forest Department endure financial crisis as salaries remain unpaid for 18 months. Divisional Forest Officer strives to secure funds for release.

Employees of the South Waziristan Forest Department are facing a dire financial crisis as their salaries have been withheld for the past eighteen months. These employees were recruited for the Tsunami ten billion trees mega project, but now find themselves struggling to make ends meet.

Watchmen, laborers, and other staff members across South Waziristan are enduring immense hardship, with many unable to afford basic necessities. Local shopkeepers have also stopped extending credit to these employees, further exacerbating their financial woes.

Despite their crucial role in forest conservation efforts, these employees feel abandoned and neglected. The prolonged salary freeze has pushed them to the brink of desperation, with some considering abandoning their duties if their demands are not met.

The Divisional Forest Officer, Wehdat Zeeshan, has acknowledged the seriousness of the situation and is working to secure the release of the outstanding salaries. However, the main obstacle lies in the shortage of funds, which is delaying the much-needed disbursement.

Zeeshan has assured the employees that every effort is being made to expedite the release of their salaries once the necessary funds are received. The employees are hopeful that their plea for financial relief will be addressed promptly to alleviate their current hardships.
