Gen Asim Munir lauds security forces' anti-terror success

Security forces successfully thwarted an attempt by a group of seven terrorists to infiltrate the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in the North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The operation, conducted in the Spinkai area of Ghulam Khan, resulted in the neutralization of all seven terrorists. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that the infiltrators were surrounded, engaged, and ultimately eliminated after a fierce exchange of fire. Additionally, a significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered from the terrorists.

The ISPR emphasized Pakistan's consistent calls for the interim Afghan government to enhance border management efforts to prevent the use of Afghan soil by terrorists targeting Pakistan. The security forces reiterated their unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation's borders and eradicating terrorism from the country.

During the recent 264th Corps Commanders’ Conference, Chief of Army Staff Gen Syed Asim Munir underscored the need to proactively counter terrorist groups operating from Afghanistan, particularly those posing a threat to Pakistan's economic interests such as the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Gen Asim commended the army and law enforcement agencies for their relentless efforts in thwarting terrorist attacks and neutralizing key terrorist figures.

The successful operation against the terrorists attempting to infiltrate the Pak-Afghan border highlights the unwavering determination of Pakistan's security forces to protect the country from external threats.
