Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi introduces a new policy to expedite passport issuance for overseas Pakistanis, reducing processing times and ensuring timely service.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has taken a significant step to address the concerns of overseas Pakistanis by introducing a new policy that ensures urgent passports will now be issued within seven days. This decision was made following Naqvi's visit to Passport and NADRA centers in London, where he observed the need for faster passport processing.

Under the new policy, regular passports will be issued within 30 days, and this timeline will be strictly enforced at all Pakistani missions abroad. This move comes in response to previous delays, where normal passports took up to four months to be issued, causing inconvenience to many applicants.

Naqvi emphasized the importance of timely passport issuance and warned of consequences for any delays. To monitor and expedite the process, a dedicated cell led by ASP Shehrbano has been established by the Interior Minister. This cell will oversee the passport issuance process and address any issues that may arise, ensuring a smoother experience for overseas Pakistanis.

Overseas Pakistanis who face delays in receiving their passports can now file complaints via email at passport@interior.gov.pk, providing them with a direct channel to address any concerns they may have.

During his visit to the centers, Naqvi engaged with Pakistani nationals who expressed satisfaction with the services provided by NADRA, which was commended by the Minister. Accompanied by Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Dr. Muhammad Faisal, Naqvi's initiative aims to streamline the passport issuance process and deliver efficient service to Pakistani expatriates.

The new expedited passport issuance policy introduced by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi marks a significant improvement in the services offered to overseas Pakistanis. By reducing processing times and implementing strict timelines, the government aims to enhance the experience of Pakistani expatriates and address long-standing concerns regarding passport delays. This initiative not only streamlines the passport issuance process but also demonstrates the government's commitment to serving its citizens abroad effectively.
