Islamic Relief Pakistan's project converts tube wells to solar power, promoting energy efficiency and sustainable practices in Peshawar.

Islamic Relief Pakistan has launched a significant project focused on energy conservation and efficiency improvement. The organization has successfully transformed seven tube wells owned by the Water and Sanitation Services Peshawar (WSSP) to operate on solar power. This initiative, which required an investment of Rs35 million, aims to reduce reliance on traditional electricity sources and promote sustainable practices.

The tube wells, strategically located in key areas including Bahadur Kale, Gule Baba, Audit Colony, Sarfaraz Colony, Shaheed Abad No. 2, Sarai Karim Bakhsh, Regi Lalmah, and Garhi Mohammad Gul, now harness solar technology to power their operations. By making this switch, Islamic Relief Pakistan is not only contributing to environmental conservation but also setting an example for utilizing renewable energy sources in essential services.

Moreover, the implementation of a state-of-the-art Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition automation system further enhances the efficiency of these tube wells. This advanced system enables better operational control, leading to minimized water wastage and optimized resource management. By integrating technology with sustainable practices, Islamic Relief Pakistan is pioneering a new approach towards water management and energy conservation in the region.

The conversion of tube wells to solar power by Islamic Relief Pakistan marks a significant step towards promoting energy efficiency and environmental sustainability. Through this project, the organization not only demonstrates its commitment to innovative solutions but also showcases the potential for utilizing renewable energy sources in critical infrastructure. By leveraging solar technology and advanced automation systems, Islamic Relief Pakistan sets a commendable example for other entities to follow in the journey towards a greener and more sustainable future.
