Islamic Relief Pakistan Leads Solar Power Initiative for Energy Efficiency

Islamic Relief Pakistan has launched a significant project focused on energy conservation and efficiency improvement. The organization has successfully transformed seven tube wells owned by the Water and Sanitation Services Peshawar (WSSP) to operate on solar power. This initiative, which required an investment of Rs35 million, aims to reduce reliance on traditional electricity sources and promote sustainable practices.

The tube wells, strategically located in key areas including Bahadur Kale, Gule Baba, Audit Colony, Sarfaraz Colony, Shaheed Abad No. 2, Sarai Karim Bakhsh, Regi Lalmah, and Garhi Mohammad Gul, now harness solar technology to power their operations. Moreover, the implementation of a state-of-the-art Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition automation system further enhances the efficiency of these tube wells.
