Lahore High Court Circular Emphasizes Judicial Principles

The Lahore High Court has issued a circular instructing all District and Sessions Judges in the province to strictly follow the principles of law and justice. The circular underscores the judiciary's crucial role in promptly delivering justice to the people and stresses the significance of upholding these principles to serve justice and the public interest effectively.

According to the circular, ensuring timely justice for the people is the primary responsibility of the judiciary. Judges are reminded to uphold the principles of law and justice without yielding to external pressures, conducting court proceedings in line with legal procedures to prioritize their judicial duties and ensure prompt and unhindered justice delivery.

In response to strikes by bar members, condemned by the Supreme Courts of Pakistan as a violation of the legal profession's dignity and constitutional rights, judges are directed to carry out their legal and judicial duties with respect for the law and the constitution, free from external influences or coercion.

Moreover, judges are urged to follow established legal procedures during court proceedings, maintaining a zero-tolerance policy towards delays or obstacles in justice administration. The circular reiterates the Supreme Courts of Pakistan's stance on bar members' strikes, highlighting the detrimental impact on the legal profession's honor and constitutional rights.

The circular affirms that judges are fully aware of their duties and are dedicated to upholding the rule of law and dispensing justice impartially and efficiently as integral members of the district judiciary.
