Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat Introduces New Teacher Transfer Policy in Punjab

A new transfer policy for teachers in Punjab has been introduced, allowing transfers on hardship grounds to be requested at any time during the year. This policy, approved by the Minister of Education in Punjab, Rana Sikandar Hayat, aims to address the needs of teachers facing difficulties such as disability, widowhood, divorce, or long distances.

Under this new policy, teachers falling under these hardship categories will be eligible for transfers throughout the year. Additionally, general transfers can be requested twice a year, mutual transfers can be requested twice a year, and inter-district transfers as well as wedlock transfers will also be open throughout the year.

The Department of School Education has emphasized that all promotions will now be finalized within a 30-day period. District committees are required to make decisions on transfer applications within the same timeframe to ensure a smooth and efficient process.

The implementation of this new transfer policy in Punjab is a significant step towards providing support to teachers facing challenging circumstances.
