Chairman of J&K People's Freedom League, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, condemns Indian PM Modi's anti-Muslim remarks, urging global intervention to protect minority rights in India and J&K.

Chairman of the J&K People's Freedom League, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, has condemned Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent remarks targeting Muslims as infiltrators and a financial burden on India. Rehmani labeled Modi's statements as irresponsible, false, and disrespectful, accusing him of exacerbating communal tensions for political gain.

During a public address in Rajasthan, Modi allegedly insinuated that Hindu earnings support Muslim children, implying a disproportionate population growth among Muslims. Rehmani, a former Convener of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference AJ&K Chapter, urged Muslims and minorities in India, as well as residents of Jammu and Kashmir, to appeal to global leaders and human rights organizations to intervene.

Rehmani highlighted Modi's alleged agenda to consolidate power by marginalizing minorities, particularly Muslims, through extrajudicial measures and discriminatory legislation. He pointed out the persecution faced by Kashmiri Muslims, including changes in residency laws and the issuance of domicile certificates to non-state Indians.

In response to the escalating tensions, Rehmani called for international pressure on India to cease the propagation of hatred, discriminatory laws against minorities, and demographic shifts in Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized the urgent need for intervention to safeguard the rights and security of vulnerable communities in the region.
