In a recent development, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Muhammad Umar Farooq has taken a strong stance against profiteering by instructing price control magistrates to intensify their efforts in curbing price hikes. The directive comes amidst concerns over escalating prices of essential goods, which have been putting a strain on the public.

During a meeting held on Sunday, Farooq stressed the need for vigilant monitoring of food prices and swift action against any vendors found to be exploiting consumers. He specifically highlighted the requirement for all shopkeepers to prominently display prices to ensure transparency in transactions.

Furthermore, Farooq announced that the performance of each price magistrate would be scrutinized on a daily basis, with strict consequences awaiting those who fail to meet expectations. The meeting, which was well-attended by all price magistrates, also saw the presence of the Assistant Commissioner of Sargodha.

It is evident that the local administration is committed to safeguarding the interests of the public and ensuring fair pricing practices in the market. By cracking down on profiteers and enforcing price regulations, authorities aim to alleviate the financial burden on consumers and promote a more equitable trading environment.
