On Saturday, a tragic incident occurred on the Karakoram Highway (KKH) in Chilas, resulting in the martyrdom of a brave soldier of the Pakistan Army and injuries to two others. The soldiers were engaged in clearing a landslide that had blocked the KKH near Gonar Farm Chilas on April 04, disrupting all traffic along the vital route.

The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that a detachment of the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO), led by Naib Subedar Khalid and two soldiers, promptly responded to the situation to restore traffic and assist stranded individuals. However, during the clearance operation, another landslide occurred, causing critical injuries to the detachment.

Tragically, Naib Subedar Khalid succumbed to his injuries and attained the status of 'shahadat,' while Sepoy Waseem and Lance Naik Azmat are currently recuperating from severe injuries. The ISPR expressed gratitude for the soldiers' dedication and service in aiding the people, emphasizing the unwavering commitment of the Pakistan Army to serve the nation in the face of all challenges.
