The Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi has approved 509 visas for Sikh pilgrims from India to attend the upcoming death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjeet Singh in Pakistan. The pilgrimage is scheduled to take place from June 21-30. This initiative is in accordance with the Pakistan-India Protocol on Visits to Religious Shrines, established in 1974.

Expressing his warm wishes to the pilgrims, Pakistan Charge d’Affaires Saad Ahmad Warraich reiterated Pakistan's commitment to supporting and assisting pilgrims during their visit. Every year, a considerable number of Indian pilgrims journey to Pakistan to partake in various religious ceremonies, fostering cultural exchange and spiritual connections between the two nations.

The facilitation of visas for Sikh pilgrims underscores the importance of religious harmony and people-to-people interactions between India and Pakistan. Such initiatives not only promote cultural understanding but also strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation across borders. The upcoming pilgrimage for Maharaja Ranjeet Singh's death anniversary serves as a testament to the enduring ties between the two countries, transcending political differences for the greater cause of shared heritage and spirituality.
