The Pakistan Hajj Mission warns Pakistani pilgrims of heatstroke risks during the upcoming Hajj days in Makkah. Pilgrims are advised to take precautions to stay safe and well during the challenging weather conditions.

The Pakistan Hajj Mission (PHM) has issued a warning to Pakistani pilgrims regarding the upcoming Hajj days, urging them to be cautious about heatstroke. The Saudi National Centre for Meteorology has predicted severe heat during the Hajj period, scheduled from June 14 to June 19, coinciding with the peak of summer temperatures in Makkah. This poses a significant concern for the well-being of the millions of pilgrims expected to gather in the region.

Pakistani pilgrims are strongly advised to avoid prolonged sun exposure, especially during the five Hajj days in Mashair from 8-12 Zilhaj. It is crucial to stay well-hydrated by drinking plenty of water, preferably ORS, seek shade using umbrellas, and spend time in cool areas with air conditioning. Despite the government of Pakistan's arrangements for transport, accommodation, and catering in Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalfa, the conditions in the tent villages are expected to be challenging.

The head of PHM highlighted that around 2.5 million pilgrims from across the globe, including 179,210 from Pakistan, are anticipated to perform Hajj this year. The Mission, supported by dedicated staff and medical personnel, is working tirelessly to provide necessary facilities to the pilgrims. Currently, approximately 40,000 Pakistani pilgrims have arrived in Madinah and Makkah via government flights, with an additional 5,500 under the private scheme.

The Pakistan Hajj Mission is fully committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of Pakistani pilgrims during this year's Hajj, despite the challenging weather conditions. Through careful planning and continuous support, the mission aims to offer a smooth and spiritually enriching experience for all pilgrims.
