PITB's Youth Initiative Portal Attracts Thousands for Motorcycles

The Punjab government has received an impressive 72,640 applications from students through the Chief Minister’s Youth Initiative Bikes Portal, a platform developed by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB). These applications are for availing motorcycles under this initiative, with 57,366 students applying for petrol motorcycles and 15,274 for e-bikes.

Originally, the deadline for registration was set for April 29, 2024. However, due to the overwhelming response, the deadline was extended to May 1, 2024, to accommodate more applicants. The Punjab government aims to provide 20,000 motorcycles to students through an installment plan. The government will assist in the down payment and offer the bikes on a convenient monthly installment basis.

Faisal Yousaf, the Chairman of PITB, highlighted the significance of the portal in facilitating students to apply online for the bikes. This initiative not only promotes accessibility to transportation for students but also eases the financial burden by providing a structured payment plan.
